Braces

Many of us realise the importance of straight teeth and a beautiful smile. Braces treatment offers an excellent opportunity for children and adults alike to straighten misaligned teeth and improve oral function. The aim of our treatment goes beyond straightening teeth. Depending on your needs and dental condition, our orthodontist takes into consideration factors like facial form and age group to create a smile that is in harmony with your face.

These different types of braces are available.

  1. Damon Braces
These self-ligating braces come in both metal and ceramic (tooth-coloured) designs. The patented design reduces friction during tooth movement, which usually translates to greater comfort for the patient. The difference is not only in the design of the braces but also in the treatment technique and treatment approach. In most cases, treatment time is reduced and better results can be achieved. This is a popular option with most of our patients.

  2. Ceramic Braces
These clear, aesthetic braces are metal-free. They offer an attractive alternative to metal braces and are preferred by adults for their aesthetic appeal.

  3. Lingual Braces (Invisible Braces)
Known as invisible braces as they are fixed to the back of each tooth, this is a suitable option for those who prefer treatment that is discreet but still effective.

  4. Clear Aligners
For this treatment, a series of clear aligners is prescribed and custom-made for each patient. Each aligner is worn for a stipulated time as advised and treatment time varies according to different dental conditions.

Interceptive Treatment for Children

This form of braces treatment is designed for a younger group of patients beginning from the age of 7 years. The treatment is aimed at correcting various dental conditions at an early age to minimise or prevent future complications in teeth and jaw development. Some common dental problems that need attention are deep overbite, protruding teeth as well as crooked upper and lower front teeth. Oral habits such as thumb-sucking, tongue-thrusting and lisping can be treated as well.

Combined Orthodontic-Orthognathic Surgical Treatment

In cases where patients are concerned about jaw length and shape, facial asymmetry or gummy smiles, the best result cannot be achieved with braces alone. Combined Orthodontic-Orthognathic Surgical treatment is then recommended for the best possible outcome in improving overall appearance and function.
